Thanks for checking out the new site for World Class Welding Mechanics and Tanks by Tigman.
We specialize in 1-off custom frames and parts for the chopper builder who wants hand-crafted, man-made quality at affordable prices. We do all of our orders one at a time so you'll never get an off-the-shelf part. We take the time to discuss ALL of the details regarding your build - and we are experienced enough to know what works, what won't, and how to make it work RIGHT. And even tho we are partial to the one off custom builds we are not limited to them. Dealer inquiries are welcome for production frames and tanks for a design you create. We manufacture frames for outfits all over the USA. Your bike could be hosting one of our frames and you don't even know it.......
We recently finished up a prototype frame for a HD Sportster that will accept any XL engine from '57 - '03. We're calling it the "XL Digger" and you can check it out here. Of course, we'll rake it and stretch it any way you want - just give us a call or email.

Well it's been over a year since I've blogged anything on here. Have been keeping active in the bike forums as much as possible. We've been busy as ever in our little corner of the world. The frame building has pretty much taken over the shop. Thats what we do mostly now. Have one part time worker that comes in when he can. Chris is like a sponge when it comes to instructions. He's a big help, just wish I could afford to pay him on a full time basis. We recently hardtailed his Paughco swingarm frame for his 69' shovelhead. Killer ride man..look for pics in the near future..So on Saturdays it's been pretty much friends of mine coming in and we work on our own stuff. Steve is a leather guy and motor head. He goes by Redds Leather on the bike forums. So if your looking for a handtooled seat for your frame speak up. He does nice work and has a lot to offer. Currently he's about $250 -$350 and thats with a seat pan. Steve's been building a cool swingarm for his brothers FXR build. Not to mention his metalshaping has come a long way. Has some awesome shaping skills with the power hammer and the english wheel. Chopper Bri's FXR still here. It's been a year but it's just about done. He's got some cool ideas going on here. We de-raked it, changed over the front end and built a new gas tank, fender and some other goodies. That should be gone in a couple of weeks. My CB750 has been at a standstill for sometime now. But I have the 89' sporty that keeps me in the wind so I'm happy for now. Jason comes down when he can. Motor head and general helper. And a lot of help I might add. Loves to learn. We've been exchanging labor. He's been helping me cut and weld up my iron railing that surrounds my pool. About 200' of it and in exchange were building him a new side car frame for his really cool side car. Wait till you see this. All fiberglass right out of the early 70's I think...we'll be mounting that up to his Yamaha Roadstar so he can cart his kids around....so it's back to the frame building for today. Have been getting a lot of hardtail work. Hardtailing a few ironheads, xs650's and some oil in frame BSA and Triumphs. Full frame builds also include of the previous mentioned. We just hardtailed a guys Heritage softtail frame a couple of weeks ago. Okay thats it for now....cheers..........Tig

It's been quite some time since I last posted here. Actually had a slow summer after the Smoke Out. The stats on the website hit the roof so I know it did drum up some website activity. Picked up only 2 jobs from that event but they were good package builds and I'm not complaining. 2 builds is better than no builds. I did attend Grail's Peabody show in August but didn't take the time to post about that, and I don't know why. It was a great time for a one day event. Met lots of really good people and finally met some of the guys from the forums as well. I'm looking forward to more of Grails events. Please see www.knucklebusterInc.com for more info. Keep an eye out for more builds at Tigs Digs. We'll be starting to do whole bike builds to sell to the general public soon cause the parts thing just doesn't cut it. I'm not where I want to be in the biz world yet so it's time to venture out more and offer more of my craftsmenship with some bike builds. So keep checking back in for the bikes for sale..........Tig out.

Well the Smokeout was one hell of a good time to say the least. We met a lot of really cool people there and saw a lot of cool bikes and babes. Hopefully we'll be back next year. Took 18 hrs. of driving in the van hauling a trailer with two bikes and a bunch of cargo like frames, gas tanks and boxes of misc. swap meet parts that chopper Bri had kickin around his garage. We had a pretty good load going for the first run. We got no further than CT. that Chopper Bri had us unloading the trailer, but it's all good man cause he put 200 miles on the FXR hardtail. So Jason/Blazinbikes came along to help work the booth and be the watch dog when he could. He slept under the stars the first night but we got some rain the 2nd night and had to cover it all up with tarps. We headed for the hotel by 11pm after watchin some good ole rock n roll at the tent. It was a good team the three of us, Steve had to drop out the week before due to personal reasons but I do think he will be there next year. Tig out.........

With the Smokeout7 chopper rally just around the corner were scramblin to get stuff done. Last week we had some more "growing pains" I guess ya call it. The 22 yr. old Airco tig welder finally crapped out on us. Don't know if it's repairable or not but we knew there wasn't time to mess around. If it gets repaired in the future then we'll have two tig machines. But for now we purchased a new 200 amp Miller squarewave air cooled unit that welds beautiful. Ya can't even hear it running. So were back on track and it should keep us in the frame building biz for many years to come. Times running short but it looks like we'll have at least one or two frames, three or four gas tanks and a couple of oil tanks for sample. Also the shop cb450 Snake bike. That should be enough product for packin in our little 6x12 trailer and van. So hope to see ya down in N.C. in Salisbury at the Rowan County Fairgrounds for Smokeout7. June 23 & 24th 2006. Stop by the Tanks by TigMan booth and say hello and check out some metal work.......thanks for readin'.............Tig out

Okay so we got the confirmation from Edge at Flat Black Inc. and were in. Just made the cut-off date. So with this being our first rally as a vendor (and don't expect to much) were scrambling to get stuff built to bring for show. Thanks to my brother in law Rudy Childs who owns and operates Spero's Video who is suppliing us with a trailer and one of those 10'x10' tents and some tables. We might actually look like we know what were doing. It should beat a cooler and lawn chairs for sure. We'll have some gas tanks, half built oil tanks (so you can see the insides and how it's plumbed) a couple of frames along with our shop bike the cb450 Snake. Which is pretty cool, has a lot of cool tricked out custom built parts on it. So stop by the booth and say hi and check out some of our metal work.........Tig out....

We are planning on attending the Smokeout7 this June down in NC. We'll be setting up a booth so if you get a chance stop by and say hello. Were always eager to meet new people, especially customers that have already spent there hard earned dollars at our shop. It will be good to thank you guys and gals in person, shake your hand and maybe hand out some free stuff for your support. We should have a bunch of t-shirts and some head wraps anyway. As far as product goes we'll be packing some frames a few gas tanks and some oil tanks. Pretty much just for show and not expecting to be selling any parts. The main reason for going is to have fun get some riding in and meet some people..........Tig out.....
